Help and FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Ninety Six is a football statistics app: for more than 50 leagues it shows 1,835 statistical indicators from the last 5 seasons, always separately for the home team at home and the away team away. Here are the answers to the questions our users ask most often – from how the data is calculated to the Premium subscription.

About the app

What Ninety Six is, what it covers and what we plan to add.

Why Ninety Six?

The Ninety Six app provides detailed statistical analysis of current football matches using databases with millions of statistical data points. Our platform uses advanced mathematical algorithms to give users a detailed overview of historical trends and a better understanding of football.

The app provides statistical data for 1,835 possible outcomes from the past.

To make the data and the analysis as reliable as possible, we include home advantage and playing in front of your own crowd, a very important factor that can influence the outcome of a match. That is why the app compares the home team's performance at its own ground with the away team's performance on the road.

Ninety Six is where the past becomes the present, and every user becomes part of an unforgettable journey through time and technology.

Why doesn't the app include every football league?

The Ninety Six team works tirelessly to expand the list of leagues in the app.

Every league comes with databases of millions of data points, which makes integration extremely complex and demanding.

When the app was first launched it had only 10 leagues. In less than a year we expanded to more than 50 leagues, which shows our commitment to constantly improving the app.

Why doesn't the app include cup competitions and national-team tournaments?

Cup competitions are specific because teams often use them to rest key players and give reserves a chance to stay in shape. Results in these matches can therefore differ significantly from a team's real form, which can lead to imprecise information and lower the accuracy of the analysis. For these reasons, cup results are not shown in the app.

National-team tournaments, such as the European and World Championships, are usually played on neutral grounds where only one team can be the host (e.g. Germany at Euro 2024). Since the app takes home advantage and playing in front of your own crowd into account, data from these tournaments is not fully relevant for our analysis because of the specific conditions in which they are played.

What new features can we expect?

Besides adding new leagues, the Ninety Six team works every day on new features to give users an even better experience. Our commitment to innovation lets us regularly introduce improvements and new options, creating a rich experience for all our users – because we are here for you.

Statistics and data

Where the numbers come from, which matches count and when the data is refreshed.

How can I find out what each outcome (statistical category) means?

For matches, teams and leagues in the statistics table, tap any outcome in the first column of the table and an explanation of that outcome appears at the bottom of the screen. Tap "X" to close it.

On the highest percentages screen, a note for every selected outcome appears at the bottom of the screen. Tap "X" to close it.

How are match statistics calculated?

Statistics for the selected match are calculated by comparing the home team's performance at its own ground with the away team's performance on the road.

Home advantage and playing in front of your own crowd are key factors in football that can significantly influence the outcome of a match. That is why, in the analysis of every match, we track the home team's performance at its ground and the away team's performance on the road, because these are often two different stories.

For example, take a match between Arsenal and Chelsea. If we select the "last 20 matches" filter, our platform compares Arsenal's performance in their last 10 home matches with Chelsea's performance in their last 10 away matches. This gives a clear insight into the form of both teams over the last 20 matches.

How are team statistics calculated?

The app provides detailed statistics for teams in both situations: when they play at home and when they play away.

HOME TEAM – Statistics for the selected home team show its performance at its own ground according to the selected filters.

AWAY TEAM – Statistics for the selected away team show its performance on the road according to the selected filters.

How are league statistics calculated?

League statistics give a deep insight into the performance of the selected league according to the chosen filters. This feature provides detailed statistics for as many as 1,835 past outcomes for the selected league.

What is H2H in the statistics?

H2H (head-to-head) means a direct meeting between two teams. For example, if we look at Arsenal–Chelsea and apply the H2H filter, we analyse their meetings when Arsenal played at home and Chelsea away. Home advantage and the support of the home crowd often play a significant role in football, so it is important to consider how the teams played under those conditions. This analysis gives a deeper understanding of how teams behaved in different settings in the past.

How does the app treat clubs promoted to a higher division?

The app shows statistics only from the current competition, without mixing data from different divisions.

For example, Oxford United were promoted from the Championship to the Premier League for the 2024/2025 season. The app shows only Oxford United's results and performance in the Premier League, because the level of competition in the Premier League is significantly higher than in the Championship.

Let's analyse Blackburn–Oxford United (24.08.2024) with the "last 20 matches" filter. By 24.08.2024, Oxford United had played only two matches (one at home and one away). Although the last 20 matches filter is selected, the app analyses only 11 matches: Blackburn's last 10 home matches and Oxford United's last away match, because Oxford United's performance in the 1994/1995 season, when they last played in the Premier League, is irrelevant for the current analysis.

Can I see statistics for any match that will be played in the future?

Statistics are available only for the next upcoming match.

Statistics for other future matches are not available because data is updated and added to the app only after each round is completed.

The statistics shown for a match include all past matches played before it, in the last 5 seasons. That is why you can currently see statistics only for the next upcoming match.

When the current round is over, all relevant data is updated and available in the app.

What does it mean when the app says "Data is being processed" or "Statistics not available"?

After every football round, the app is updated with the latest results. Data in the app is updated once or twice a week.

We usually update on Tuesdays, adding the data for the previous round played from Friday to Monday.

For rounds or European competitions played midweek (Tuesday–Thursday), the app gets an extra update on Friday to include results and data from those matches.

Since every league includes more than a million data points, entering this amount of information takes some time. Processing usually takes no longer than 12 hours, and during that time the app may show "Data is being processed" or "Statistics not available".

After every successful update you'll get a notification that the data has been refreshed, so you always have access to the latest information.

Why aren't the tables updated in real time?

The app currently doesn't offer real-time updates of results and tables.

Tables in the app are updated at the end of every round, and the section where they are shown clearly states which round the table was updated with.

Highest percentages and filters

How to rank matches, clubs and leagues and narrow the view to what interests you.

What are the HIGHEST PERCENTAGES?

This advanced feature lets you analyse the highest percentages for matches, teams and leagues. Choose one of the 1,835 available outcomes from the past and get the percentage of how often it occurred, ranked from highest to lowest, based on historical data. It helps you identify which outcomes repeated most often in the past, based on previous results.

What do the filters in "HIGHEST PERCENTAGES" do?

The filters in "HIGHEST PERCENTAGES" let you tailor the analysis precisely to your needs:

  • Filter by STATISTICS – Choose one of 17 statistical categories, such as "GOALS". This filter helps you focus on specific types of statistics.
  • Filter by CATEGORY – Choose one of the available categories, such as "TOTAL GOALS IN MATCH". This filter lets you narrow down the type of statistics you want to analyse.
  • Filter by OUTCOME – Choose one of the available outcomes, for example "3+ goals". This filter helps you focus on the specific statistical outcome you are interested in.
  • Filter by SEASON or filter by LAST – Choose a specific season, head-to-head (H2H), or analyse the last 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 or 60 matches. This filter lets you set the time frame of the analysis.
  • Filter by DATE – Choose the date range you want. For example, if you only want to see today's matches, simply set the start and end date to "Today".

For the selected outcome, the app shows the highest percentages of how often that outcome occurred in the past, ranked from highest to lowest, based on historical data. It helps you identify which outcomes repeated most often in the past, based on previous results.

What do the filters in the statistics for MATCHES, TEAMS and LEAGUES do?

The "Statistics" tab offers the following filters:

  • Filter by STATISTICS – Lets you choose one of 17 statistical categories, such as "GOALS". It helps you focus on the specific types of statistics you are interested in.
  • Filter by SEASON – Lets you choose the season you want to see statistics for, for example "season 2023/2024". This filter helps you analyse data within a specific period.
  • Filter by LAST – This filter offers:

H2H (head-to-head) – Statistics for previous meetings between the two teams. For example, for Arsenal–Chelsea, if you choose the H2H filter you get data on previous meetings between Arsenal and Chelsea in the last 5 seasons, including the matches where Arsenal were the home team and Chelsea the away team.

Last 10/20/30/40/50/60 matches – Lets you see team performance over a set number of recent matches. For example, for Arsenal–Chelsea, if you choose the "last 20 matches" filter, the app shows Arsenal's performance in their last 10 home matches and Chelsea's performance in their last 10 away matches, giving you insight into how both teams performed in that period.

With these filters you can analyse statistics and performance for matches, teams and leagues in detail, tailored to your own interests and needs.
